Specialists in Biomass Energy Systems and Biomass Fiber Drying

LUMBER DRY KILNS

Teaford dry kilns are designed to provide a uniform moisture content throughout the lumber to minimize degrade and increase mill revenues. To accomplish this, the Teaford lumber dry kilns have specially designed fan, venting and baffling systems and controls.

The Teaford control system was specially designed for today’s lumber mills to help them achieve their goals. The Teaford Co., Inc. has developed a new control system that is more responsive, has greater capability and flexibility to meet today’s lumber mill demands.

The dry kiln fan system has newly designed shrouds and turning plenums that supply more uniform airflow throughout the drykiln improving drying uniformity. Improved baffling minimizes lumber distortion and improves sticker velocity which shortens drying times.

Teaford drykilns can be heated by steam, thermal oil or direct fired, depending on the customer’s available fuel and the lumber products they produce.

Teaford biomass fired boilers, thermal oil heaters and direct fired furnaces include state of the art biomass combustion process to maximize the system efficiency and minimize environmental emissions. Complete systems from fuel storage to steam outlet are available. Biomass fired cogeneration systems can be added to provide plant power, power to the grid or in combination. Let us help with all your wood drying needs.

The Teaford Company offers state-of-the-art lumber dry kilns. With built in flexibility, these dry kilns are specifically designed to meet the particular drying requirements of your sawmill. The fundamental purpose of a dry kiln is to dry lumber to a specific moisture content evenly. To accomplish this goal it is very important to invest in good airflow, heating, and humidity control systems.
